The outbreak of COVID-19 may be a very stressful time for anyone, but potentially more so if you have underlying mental health issues.  Fear and anxiety about any health condition can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. At Cavendish Homecare we understand that coping during this pandemic can be very challenging.  However, our experienced, compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurses are here to provide the help and support needed.  

Our Registered Mental Health Nurses are passionate about working with you to develop a unique care plan suited to your needs. Support includes monitoring and controlling symptoms, medication management and working to rebuild self-esteem and confidence.  

If you, or someone you care about, are feeling overwhelmed with emotions such as sadness, depression or anxiety our caring Registered Mental Health Nurses are able to assist with a range of support services including via the phone, video calls or home visits.  Individualised access to 24/7 expertise is also available.

Managing Anxiety and Stress during the COVID-19 Pandemic

We all react differently to stressful situations.  How you respond to the COVID-19 pandemic may depend on factors such as your background, the community you live in or any pre-existing mental health conditions. Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviour are just some of the disorders which may cause their sufferers to feel overwhelmed and therefore more anxious.  This in turn affects daily life and the ability to care for oneself and complete basic tasks. 

Those who may respond more strongly to the stress of a crisis include:

  • Those who are immunosuppressed and so are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19

    The prospective client or someone acting on their behalf makes an initial enquiry. This can be via a phone call, a call back request or submitting an enquiry form via email. The enquiry is picked up by the office team who will gather the required information and then pass it through to one of our nurse managers

    One of the experienced nurse managers will give you a call back to discuss the needs in more detail and to provide their expert recommendation on the care that may be required. They will then discuss with you, what Cavendish Homecare may be able to provide, what the cost is and what timescale we would be able to commence your care.

    Once an initial agreement is established, the nursing manager will start working with the bookings team to determine the most suitable nurse and/or carer are best matched with your needs.

    Following the tailored care recommendation and the selection of staff. We ensure you (the client) are happy with the proposed course of action and the care is able to commence. In some cases, an assessment visit may be required and this will be undertaken by one of our nurse managers.

    You will begin receiving outstanding homecare from our team, tailored to your needs. Your care plan will be under constant review to ensure the correct level of care is addressing your needs and being provided at all times.
