Cavendish Homecare was proud to attend the recent St John’s Hospice Charity fundraising event on the 9th October 2025, an inspiring evening dedicated to raising vital funds for their pioneering Hospice at Home services.
The evening was held in the spectacularly beautiful setting of The Wallace Collection, a national museum housed in the historic Hertford House. Surrounded by unsurpassed masterpieces of painting, sculpture, 18th-century French furniture, and arms and armour, the unique venue provided a truly elegant and memorable backdrop for such a worthy cause.
Attendees enjoyed delightful food, moving comedy, and powerful speeches from the Hospice team, who shared personal stories about the profound impact of their work. Hearing first-hand about the difference the charity makes reinforced the critical mission of the night.
For Cavendish Homecare, a key provider of specialist palliative and end-of-life care, attending this event was especially meaningful. We understand intimately the critical importance of high-quality end-of-life support and the severe pressure on resources within the broader care system. It is in this challenging environment that charitable services like St John’s Hospice at Home become truly indispensable.
The need for this specialist care is starkly evident in their recent impact statistics. Last year alone, a staggering 4,757 patients, family members, and carers accessed their services. This support translated into 19,634 hours of dedicated care delivered to 116 patients in the comfort of their own homes.
Looking ahead, the Hospice is further expanding its reach with new services into Hammersmith and Fulham, anticipating that an additional 3,000 people will benefit from their compassionate Hospice at Home support. This expansion is a testament to the success and necessity of their model.
“The work being done by St John’s Hospice is phenomenal,” said a Mairead Liston from the Cavendish Homecare team. “As we strive every day to deliver the best possible care to our own clients, we know that partnership and support for organisations like this are crucial. Their efforts to provide expert, compassionate care at home ensures people in our community can live well for longer and receive the dignity they deserve at the end of life.”
The evening at the Wallace Collection was a powerful reminder that quality end-of-life care is a collective responsibility. By supporting St John’s Hospice, Cavendish Homecare reinforces its commitment not only to its own clients but to the wider mission of ensuring that valuable resources are available for people in need across London.
