Post Operative Care
Mrs M who is an independent 75-year-old had an emergency back operation which meant she was unable to ambulate the stairs in her home. Due to this hinderance, her GP recommended she contact Cavendish Homecare for post operative homecare. After Mrs M’s initial contact, a member of the Cavendish Homecare team arrived at her home within 12 hours of her discharge. After Mrs M’s situation had been assessed, Cavendish Homecare arranged for registered nurses to care for her day and night. The nurses dressed Mrs M’s wounds as well as administered her medication, organised clinical appointments, looked after her personal care and diet, worked with her Physiotherapist to ensure her mobility was improving as expected.
Cavendish Homecare also arranged for a hospital bed with a specialised mattress to be installed on Mrs M’s ground floor of her home until she was able to make use of her staircase on her own again.
Cavendish Homecare continued with regular updates and frequent visits. Mrs M’s family were very pleased by the care she received saying, “We couldn’t have chosen anyone better to look after Mum. Her mobility has improved much faster than we expected.”
