“You allowed us to share real quality time with her as a family”

Our client’s story

After undergoing extensive chemotherapy, 45-year-old Mrs. C, a mother of three, was given the news that her tumours hadn’t shrunk and her cancer treatment wasn’t working. Deciding to halt further treatment and go home, she and her husband got in touch with us.

We met Mrs. C in hospital to discuss discharge planning with her and the Macmillan Nurse. She was understandably upset and concerned about her family, and we reassured her that we would deal with the situation holistically, and support her various family members.

As well as carrying out a full home risk assessment and arranging for the right equipment to be delivered, one of our registered nurses also escorted her home in the ambulance. Providing 24-hour cancer care, our registered nurses and carers worked alongside her Macmillan team and gave specialist pain management and continuity of care during her final weeks.

Thanked by her family and friends, our staff attended her funeral and are still in contact with her family. “Thank you for the support you gave, you allowed us to share real quality time with her.”

Your Registered Nurses cared so well for Mum

Your Registered Nurses cared so well for Mum. Small things such as brushing her hair regularly, massaging her feet, hands and head, talking to her and taking her non-verbal cues into account.
