As Deputy Nurse Manager, Esnart’s days are rich with variety and responsibility. Her mornings begin by reviewing handovers and care notes to identify and address any client issues. From there, her time is spent guiding care staff, liaising with multidisciplinary teams including GPs, pharmacists, and hospital colleagues, and engaging directly with families to resolve client concerns. She also conducts home visits, reviews care plans, participates in audits, writes reports, and supports team members through appraisals and supervision.
Professional background
Esnart holds an MSc in Mother and Child Health, a BSc in Nursing, and multiple diplomas in health services management, nursing education, and midwifery teaching. She is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with decades of experience across clinical, educational, and managerial roles. Her extensive background includes work in neonatal, maternity, medical, surgical, infectious diseases, and neuro-disability units. She has served in leadership roles such as Ward Sister and Clinical Nurse Manager and was even assigned as a Presidential Nurse in Zambia. Esnart also contributed to health research and educational literature, including a Safe Motherhood textbook.
