Light up the Night with Cruse Bereavement

What is Light up the Night?

This Autumn, Cruse Bereavement are hosting several ‘Light up the Night‘ events across the UK.

“Light up the Night has been created to give friends and family an opportunity for shared remembrance of loved ones who have died, in a place of unique calm, peace, hope and community.”

On Thursday 24th November from 5-6pm, Cavendish Homecare joined Cruse Bereavement outside the Royal Exchange Building for a candlelit event in memory of a loved one.

The event was open for anybody to drop by and walk, linger, light a candle and contemplate family and friends, past and present. It was a truly moving experience to see so many people pass by to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Cruse Bereavement Support is the UK’s leading bereavement charity who are here to make sure that everyone gets the support they need when they need it. They are here to help no matter how long you’ve been grieving.

Our Operations Assistant, Misha Zemkova, also sat down with Sarah Bingham, Community Fundraiser and Engagement Manager for London and the South East at Cruse Bereavement Support. They discussed Cruse’s great work to support bereaved people and their families by providing support and information and campaigning for more awareness around grief.

Cavendish Homecare have enjoyed working with Sarah and the team this year to raise vital funds and awareness throughout Royal Cuppa and Light Up the Night event. We look forward to working together in 2023!

“I just wanted to say an enormous thank you to you and all of your team for a wonderful event this evening.  I have only done two of these so far and each has shown me exactly how critical the services that Cruse offers are to the service receivers.  We had some very sensitive comments made from people all evening about loved ones that they wanted to remember, and it is a real pleasure to have been part of making this evening possible.”
